Stone of all kinds continues to fascinate me and, with sandstone,
the patterns and colors inspire all kinds of images and art.
I took this this image recently when I was hiking with friends through Juniper Canyon
in the Red Rocks National Conservation Area outside of Las Vegas.
It was a beautiful, late fall day and there were a number of climbers
in the relatively remote upper sections of the canyon.
Seeing these patterns and colors has inspired a whole new series of photographs
and paintings, which I’m currently working on.
